North Leeds Community Nursery started life in 1979. Local parents in Headingley wanted the best for their children: a warm, happy and lively environment, with an ethos strong on community rather than profits. And so they began, in a room in a house – five children and a nursery nurse playing and learning together.
And Then We Grew…
Our ideals for the children are still much the same. But we’ve grown to be a registered charity, and we’re based in well-designed modern premises. Situated on the outskirts of Beckett park. Many people contribute to our Nursery community today in the bustling neighbouhoods of Headingley and Kirkstall, but at its hub are the children.
Up to 38 babies and children fill the Nursery with their unique personalities. Little ones aged from three months to two years are nurtured in the Sunshine Room. Older children aged from two to five years play and learn together in the Rainbow Room.
We’re here to support you and your family as well as your child. We like to bring parents and carers together, and we’re happy for you to be as actively involved as you’d like. With so many families coming to the nursery from different areas, Headingley, Kirkstall, Armley, Meanwood. We feel it is really important to meet regularly throughout the year so that fmilies can meet and build long lasting friendships.
Our professional well qualified staff are at the heart of the Nursery. We’re here to work with you to make sure that your child is as well and happy as can be.
